Instructions
Step 1 – Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Step 2 – Roast the Peppers
Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers and onions. Cook 8–10 minutes until lightly charred and caramelized. Stir in garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook another minute and transfer vegetables to a bowl.
Step 3 – Make the Sauce
Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter. Pour in heavy cream and whisk until warm.
Stir in:
Dijon mustard
Italian seasoning
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Add Parmesan gradually, whisking until smooth. Stir in Heat Street Detroit Honey Roasted Habanero Hot Sauce. Add lemon juice and honey (if desired). Simmer 3–4 minutes until silky and creamy.
Step 4 – Combine
Return roasted peppers to the skillet. Add cooked pasta and toss thoroughly. Add reserved pasta water a few tablespoons at a time until the sauce perfectly coats the pasta.
Step 5 – Finish
Top with:
Fresh basil
Parsley
Parmesan
Fresh cracked pepper
Serve immediately.
Flavor Profile
Rich, creamy, savory, and slightly smoky with a sweet habanero finish. Caramelized bell peppers bring natural sweetness, Parmesan adds salty richness, and smoked paprika provides a subtle depth. The 313 Honey Roasted Habanero Hot Sauce cuts through the creamy sauce with sweet, fruity heat, while fresh lemon and herbs brighten every bite.
Why This Recipe Works
Creamy sauces and habanero are a perfect match. The richness of the cream, butter, and Parmesan softens the habanero heat while allowing the pepper’s fruity flavor to come through. Roasted sweet peppers complement the honey notes in The 313, while Dijon, garlic, herbs, and lemon add savory depth and acidity to keep the sauce from feeling too heavy.
The result is a comforting creamy pasta with layers of sweet, smoky, savory, and spicy flavor—all tied together by The 313.
